Project Description
SCHOOL EXPEDITION TOUR
School groups are challenged to research, design, and implement a village-based project in Madang Province.
This project forms the central part of the student’s cultural experience, working directly with the local village community, helping better the lives of those they live amongst during the stay.
Tour itinerary
Day 1- Early morning (8:00 a.m) meet at Jackson’s Airport Domestic terminal in readiness for the flight to Madang. Arrive in Madang 10:40 a.m and settle in to the Madang Lodge. Afternoon tour of Madang town and the Madang Cultural Centre.
Day 2- Morning visit to Bilbil Village for a cultural experience, followed by beautiful Balek Sanctuary. Afternoon relaxation at Madang Lodge.
Day 3- PNG School Experience Project
Day 4- PNG School Experience Project
Day 5- PNG School Experience Project
Day 6- PNG School Experience Project
Day 7- PNG School Experience Project
Day 8- Morning visit to Alexishafen to visit WW2 sites, before driving to Jais Aben Resort for an afternoon of relaxation and Bamboo Band music, unique to PNG. An opportunity for swimming and snorkeling. Stay at Jais Aben Resort.
Day 9- Islands tours. An opportunity to snorkel, relax and swim on some of Madang’s most beautiful islands.
Day 10- Nobanob and Hobe Village visits. Relax at Madang Resort Hotel. Stay at Madang Lodge.
Day 11- Free day to do final explorations or relax in Madang town.
Day 12- Early morning flight from Madang to Port Moresby, as the PNG School Experience concludes.

Inclusions – All accommodation, meals and bottled water on excursions, cultural experiences, all tours including transport, local guides.
Exclusions – Airfares, school village project costs. The group must budget and fundraise towards the costs involved in completing the chosen project.
